Custom Software for Test

3rd Party CAN drivers

I have been working with Intrepid Control CAN hardware and found Hoovahh's (aka Brian Hoover) CAN drivers.  I am very impresed with the work he did.

If you working with  KVaser, Vector, or Intrepid hardware check out his CAN repository listed on the blog page below.

Brian also has a blog about CAN.  You can check that out here

‍NI Custom Installers

I have been using Innosetup to build installers for the code I release.  NI changed how you download some of the runtime engines. Specifically, I wanted the VISA and DAQmx Runtime engines.  Here is a great article on how to build a NI package to contain the drivers and runtime engines needed.

‍Charity Spotlight

‍I want to start a series of charities we support.  This month is the Village of Lansing

‍At the end of 2019 after a shooting that left a young person from our community dead and another wounded, a meeting was called out to community members to talk about the violence amongst our young people got together to try and do something about it. We started with Fellowship BBQ's in the Park every Monday.  The Village Lansing is a community-based non profit organization that was created to strengthen and support our communities through outreach, resource allocation, mobilization, mentoring, empowerment, and service. We are so much more than an organization or a group; we fiercely believe in the idea that we all move as one regardless of our geographical location within our city.  We move in unison with one goal in mind: to get our communities the help that is out there to empower them for success. We aim to close the gap between those in need, and those that have, and are willing to give. Everyone is The Village. Meaning WE ARE ONE. Anyone that is helping a kid or a family, giving their time, donating a resource, is THE VILLAGE.
