Custom Software for AutomatedTest

‍Custom Panels

I have started doing my own custom panels.  I have hired it out in the past.  Here are some pictures of the panel I just built for a customer.  The panel houses all the hardware for the project.  There is an industrial computer mounted on the door so everything is enclosed. I will be doing a full write up on this project soon.  Contact us today if you need a custom panel built for your test system.

‍PCAN USB

‍I have been working with PCAN USB hardware for a few jobs.  This device allows a PC to connect to a CAN network.  I have used this for UDS and standard CAN messages.  This hardware is in stock and only $235.00.  Let me know if you need a custom program to test your CAN device.

‍LabVIEW Tip

‍I like to use system controls for my user interfaces.  They are very simple and adapt to the operating system.  I like to use icons whenever possible to convey what the button or control does.  This toolkit was developed years ago by NI and I have been using it for many years.  I have modified some of the buttons to add my own icons.  You can download the toolkit for free from VIPM.io.  I like to use Icon finder to get icons for my controls.

‍Charity Spotlight

‍Since 1981, Greater Lansing Food Bank has led the fight against hunger in our seven-county, 4,000 square-mile service area, ensuring families in need have nutritious food to support their health and well-being, to weather financial stress or unforeseen life events and to learn and grow as community members.

‍The Most Powerful Idea in the World

‍I recently started reading this book and can't recommend it enough.

A lively and passionate study of the engineering and scientific breakthroughs that led to the steam engine, this book argues that the very notion of intellectual property drove not only the invention of the steam engine but also the entire Industrial Revolution: history’s first sustained era of economic improvement. To do so, Rosen conjures up an eccentric cast of characters, including the legal philosophers who enabled most the inventive society in millennia, and the scientists and inventors―Thomas Newcomen, Robert Boyle, and James Watt―who helped to create and perfect the steam engine over the centuries.
