‍Emerson Purchases NI

Emerson has completed the purchase of NI as of October 11, 2023. NI will become a new reported segment within Emerson called Test & Measurement and will be consolidated into the Software and Control group. The Test & Measurement business will continue to be headquartered in Austin, Texas.

‍LabVIEW Tip Code Capture Tool

I have been using the LAVA Code capture tool for many years. It is a tool you can install via VIPM. What it does is create png image files of front panels or block diagrams. You can use these images for software specification documents, help files, or upload code snipits to forums.

‍Internet of Things

‍The term IoT, or Internet of Things, refers to the collective network of connected devices and the technology that facilitates communication between devices and the cloud, as well as between the devices themselves.

We can develop custom software that can send data to the cloud for analysis.

‍JPL fixes software glitch in Voyager Spacecraft

‍Engineers for NASA’s Voyager mission are taking steps to help make sure both spacecraft, launched in 1977, continue to explore interstellar space for years to come. The team is uploading a software patch to prevent the recurrence of a glitch that arose on Voyager 1 last year. Engineers resolved the glitch, and the patch is intended to prevent the issue from occurring again in Voyager 1 or arising in its twin, Voyager 2.
